My first novel, a middle grade fantasy called The Rock of Ivanore, will be released in May 2012 with Tanglewood Press - only thirteen years later than my original goal. Well, better late than never.
I live in sunny Southern California with my husband, five children, 4 grandparents, 4 birds, 3 lizards, 2. turtles, 2 fish, 1 dog - and a Partridge in a Pear Tree! Whew! I have been a homeschool mom for going on 13 years. I enjoy singing, musical theater, reading, and chocolate. I don't have a favorite genre of book; I like to read everything, but some of my very favorite novels have been Gone With The Wind, Ender's Game, and Wuthering Heights. Among my favorite children's book authors are Tony Abbott, Lois Lowry, Neal Shusterman, Jerry Spinelli, and Mary E. Pearson.
I often get asked "When do you have time to write?" My answer is - If I don't write, I'll go insane. Or maybe I write because I'm insane. In any case, next to my family, I love writing best. I hope to live until I'm a hundred years old because it will take me that long to write all the stories bouncing around in my head.
